Chuck’s Sandjacking Process
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Sandjacking?
Sandjacking is a unique, patented concrete leveling process that involves blowing dry, sand under pressure beneath concrete slabs to raise and stabilize them. It is a cleaner, longer-lasting alternative to mudjacking or foam injection. Most importantly, our unique Sandjacking patented process fills the voids completely, which won’t allow water storage. Holes are only drilled if necessary.
How does Sandjacking work?
1. We physically raise the concrete slab using our patented process specific to each situation.
2. Using specialized, patented equipment to blow specifically dried sand under the slab, filling the voids.
3. The slab is gently lifted and supported from beneath as sand fills the voids.
What types of concrete surfaces can be Sandjacked?
Sandjacking is ideal for:
• Sidewalks
• Driveways
• Steps
• Garage floors
• Patios
• Pool decks
• Interior concrete slabs
What are the benefits of our Sandjacking process over other methods?
• Dry process: No water, toxic chemicals or mud is used.
• Minimal mess: Cleaner than mudjacking or foam.
• Stable support: Specifically dried sand compacts naturally and helps to prevent future settling by reducing the accumulation of water.
• Environmentally friendly: Uses only natural materials. Sand has a long shelf life.
• Cost-effective: Often cheaper than replacing concrete and other concrete raising techniques.
Is Sandjacking permanent?
While no solution is truly permanent, Chuck’s Sandjacking process provides the longest-lasting results. The compacted, dry sand provides stable support and helps to prevent future voids and settling.
How long does our Sandjacking process take?
Most residential jobs can be completed in a few hours, depending on the size and condition of the area. Unique commercial projects may require more time.
Will I need to move anything before the process?
Yes, it’s recommended to remove:
• Vehicles
• Planters or outdoor furniture
• Any obstacles over or near the sunken concrete
When can I use the surface after Sandjacking?
You can typically walk or drive on the leveled surface immediately after completion, since no curing time is needed.
Is Sandjacking safe for my landscaping or foundation?
Yes. The dry sand used is non-invasive and doesn’t harm nearby structures or vegetation. It can also help divert moisture away from foundations by eliminating voids where water normally collects.
How much does Sandjacking cost?
Costs vary based on:
• Size of the area
• Amount of lifting required
• Amount of sand used
• Accessibility of the site
• We can usually repair your slab for less cost than removing the concrete.
Typically, Chuck’s Sandjacking is significantly cheaper than concrete replacement. Sandjacking is usually less expensive than mudjacking or foaming.
